This podcast series stems from a research project influenced by the process of chance. Through the development of content and context from four random locations throughout the city of Detroit, the major theme of waste tied them all together. For the purpose of WASTE FILES, waste is defined as "to use or expend carelessly, extravagantly, or to no purpose; becoming progressively weaker and more emaciated."
The exploration of waste within unexpected realms creates a platform for unique conversations and insights. The goal of this podcast is to not only share the information we curate regarding waste but encourage the continued process of researching, questioning, and taking action.
The creators of WASTE FILES are Annie Hickling and James Hattan. The pair are currently studying Communication Design at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan.
